Curriculum
Through a combination of educational and clinical activities, essential competencies such as performing a clinical assessment and instituting management plans for patients, working in a multidisciplinary team, interpersonal communications with patients, caregivers and other members of the healthcare team, are developed in a progressive manner to ease the transition from a medical student to a practising doctor in the PGY1 year.
During your PGY1 training, you will enhance your clinical experience through a wide range of specialties and subspecialties. You will also connect with committed faculty members who will provide adequate supervision and guidance for your professional career.
Rotations
As part of the Post-graduate Year 1 (PGY1) licensing requirements set by the Singapore Medical Council and MOH, the PGY1 may rotate through the following disciplines within TTSH:
- General Medicine
- General Surgery
- Orthopaedic Surgery
This comprehensive year will fulfill both the Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) licensing requirements set by the Singapore Medical Council and MOH.
PGY1's Scholarly Activities
The PGY1 year is a period of adjustment and flux as the medical graduate transits from undergraduate medical education to full medical registration. PGY1 doctors who are interested in participating in research and scholarly activities may approach the Programme Director and faculty members, who will assist to connect you with the appropriate parties.
