While
image interpretation and interventional skill may be deemed as the
"science" of radiology, the "art" of radiology is in
helping patients and clinicians navigate the myriad of imaging and
interventional options such that the adopted strategy is not only appropriate
to the treatment goal, but can be delivered in an efficient, cost-effective and
ethical manner. The aspiring trainee would do well to consider the very real
challenge, but also the fulfilment attached to the work we do.”
