Resident's Talk

"3 years on: thankful for this journey and the opportunities for learning, teaching and research that help us grow together as clinicians, and for the faculty and family that have come before and paved the way in this exciting field that I’ve chosen."

Dr Jade Chee
Sports Medicine Trainee

Our Programme

The Sports Medicine Integrated Programme is a 3-year programme offered across the National Healthcare Group (NHG), National University Health System (NUHS) and Singapore Health Services (Singhealth). This programme aims to prepare residents to manage a broad range of conditions pertinent to sports and exercise.

The programme aims to equip residents with the skills and knowledge required to manage conditions as part of a care team with an evidence and sports science-based approach. During the training, residents will be exposed to clinical medicine as well as sports science postings. There will be opportunities to participate in medical education and research projects. There will also be exposure to on-field work in the areas of sports events and pitch-side cover, as well as sports science.

Commencing as a residency programme in July 2025, new residents will be enrolled under the Singapore Integrated Programme (SGIP) for Sports Medicine with National Healthcare Group (NHG) as the administrative centre.
