Curriculum
Our hand surgeons are highly trained and experienced in handling the various hand conditions. These include:
- Hand and wrist trauma
- Infections of the hand and upper limb
- Degenerative and inflammatory arthritis affecting the hand and wrist
- Wrist and hand arthroscopy
- Replantation surgery
- Reconstructive microsurgery of the upper and lower limb
- Post-traumatic deformities and contractures
- Congenital hand deformities
- Benign and malignant tumours
- Brachial plexus injuries and tetraplegia
- Peripheral nerve lesions, including compression neuropathies
- Upper and lower limb soft tissue injuries including vascular and nerve injuries
The Hand Surgery Integrated Programme allows the resident to have the opportunity to train in various institutions across the island.

Prospective applicants will apply directly into the Hand Surgery Residency Programme. They will embarks on a 2-year Surgery-in-General (SIG) training programme, which equip them with knowledge in the fundamental principles of surgical practice, surgical skills, and competencies.
The residents will use these essential skills during their subsequent 4-year hand surgery residency training.
