NHG Surgery-In-General (SIG) Residency Programme

Resident's Talk

“The SIG training programme provided me with countless opportunities to get hands-on training experience..."

Dr Bernice Heng
SIG (Hand Surgery)

Am I eligible for the programme?

To be eligible for the SIG programme, the candidate must have completed transitional residency year or an approved house officer year. They must have been pre-selected for residency training via national interviews, ranking, and matching to a surgical specialty. The number of resident positions is to be set by the SIG RAC under the advice of MOH. Residents must complete the training in the same programme.

How do I apply?

  • As applications are centrally managed by MOHH, please refer to this website for more details.
  • Our residency positions are only eligible for those who are registered and employed to practise in Singapore. For the list of the degrees and qualifications that are recognised by the Singapore Medical Council and registrable to work in Singapore, please refer to its website.
